World Cup winner would welcome Premier League challenge

Alessandro Del Piero has opened the door to a summer move to the Premier League by admitting that he would welcome a switch to England. The 37-year-old forward will become a free agent when his contract with Juventus expires after Sunday's Coppa Italia final against Napoli. The World Cup winner has spent the last 19 years in Turin, breaking numerous records along the way. He will, however, be forced to look elsewhere for games if he plans on prolonging his playing career.

Del Piero has no intention of hanging up his boots just yet and is confident he can still operate at the highest level. He admits he would relish the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League and has already been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers. The former Italy international claims no agreement has been reached with any club as yet, but it is being reported in his homeland that he is mulling over offers from England. "England is a place where the football is so good, but I have still not agreed anything with a club," said Del Piero.
