Wenger baffled by decisions

FA decisions on Balotelli and Derry rile Arsenal boss

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has called for more consistency from the Football Association after Mario Balotelli avoided punishment for his challenge on Gunners midfielder Alex Song. Manchester City striker Balotelli escaped any disciplinary action following a studs-up tackle on Song during Arsenal's 1-0 victory on Saturday. The FA ruled that retrospective action could not be taken because the incident had been seen by the match officials at the time. Wenger claims the ruling "doesn't make sense" after QPR's Shaun Derry was suspended for an adjudged challenge on Ashley Young during Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Manchester United even though replays suggested the winger had dived. The Gunners boss said: "If you put those two incidents together, it looks absolutely unbelievable that one is suspended and the other isn't. "It doesn't make sense."
