Arsene Wenger has confirmed Thierry Henry will not extend his loan stay at Arsenal and will return to New York Red Bulls on time.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed Thierry Henry will not extend his loan stay at the club and will return to New York Red Bulls on time. Wenger suggested earlier this month he would look into possibly extending Henry's spell at the club beyond February. However, New York Red Bulls coach Hans Backe revealed on Thursday he expected Henry back at Red Bulls on February 17 for pre-season training ahead of the new MLS season in March. Wenger has now confirmed the club's all-time leading goalscorer will leave Arsenal on February 16 after next week's UEFA Champions League clash with AC Milan. "I would have loved Thierry to stay for two more weeks but he has to go back. It's only fair on New York," said Wenger. Henry returned for a second spell in North London at the turn of the year and he has scored two goals in five games for the Gunners.
