Midfielder has become a more regular feature in Wenger's plans

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has been rewarded for his progress this season with a new long-term contract at Emirates Stadium. Coquelin made his debut for the Gunners against Sheffield United in the Carling Cup in 2008 and he has made 16 appearances for the club in total. The Frenchman spent last season on loan with Lorient and has gradually established himself as part of Arsene Wenger's plans since returning to Arsenal. He has featured 12 times in the first team this season after previously admitting in November that he was concerned about his lack of opportunities. However, in recent weeks, the 20-year-old has featured regularly for the Gunners and has even been pressed into service as an emergency full-back. Coquelin, who was forced off through injury in the first half of Monday's FA Cup win over Leeds United, has now decided to pledge his long-term future to Arsenal.
