Arsene Wenger has denied holding an interest in bringing Cologne striker Lukas Podolski to Arsenal in the January transfer window.
Podolski has 18 months left on his contract at Cologne, but his future is uncertain after he recently expressed his frustration at the club's failure to challenge for Europe.
Cologne hope to agree a new deal with the Germany international, while Bundesliga rivals Schalke have registered an interest in signing the 26-year-old.
However, the former Bayern Munich forward has admitted that he is likely to move abroad if he decides to leave Cologne and is keen to join a club playing Champions League football.
That prompted speculation that Arsenal could launch a bid for Podolski, with the Premier League club losing Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh to the African Cup of Nations in January.
Wenger, though, says he has no plans to make an offer for Podolski and is unsure whether he will sign any players when the transfer window reopens.
