Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker says that he will not leave the German club for Arsenal this summer.
The Germany international is in the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga side and has been linked with a move to Arsenal during the current transfer window.
Negotiations over a contract extension have stalled and there have been reports suggesting that Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is interested in the 26-year-old, but Mertesacker has now dismissed those claims.
"I am a player of Werder Bremen and I like playing in the green-white of the club," the centre-back told Sportinformationsdienst. "Nothing will be changed on that.
"I love being skipper of the club and I proceed on the assumption that I will at least see out the campaign in the colours of Werder Bremen."
Mertesacker featured in Werder's entertaining 5-3 defeat of Freiburg at the Weserstadion in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
