Skysports.com understands Chesterfield have agreed a deal to sign Mark Randall following the end of the midfielder's contract at Arsenal.
Randall is leaving the Premier League club on a free transfer and is set to finalise a move to the League One new boys.
The 21-year-old made 13 appearances during his Gunners career and has also enjoyed several stints out on loan.
He has represented Burnley and MK Dons, and had a spell at Rotherham United last season, making 10 appearances in League Two.
Randall has now agreed a one-year contract to link up with the Spireites as John Sheridan looks to build a squad capable of making an impact in League One next term.
