Benik Afobe has not ruled out returning to Huddersfield Town on loan next season, but has revealed he is keen to play in the Championship.
The 18-year-old forward has been a revelation for the Terriers, netting eight times in 21 starts, as they narrowly missed out first on automatic promotion and then losing 3-0 to Peterborough in the League One play-off final.
Huddersfield were hoping to bring the Arsenal youngster back to the Galpharm Stadium, but Afobe says the Gunners will ultimately decide where he plays next season.
"You never know what is going to happen in football, but after the season has finished I'll return to Arsenal for pre-season and hopefully get a chance to impress back there," Afobe told skysports.com.
"If not, and the gaffer wants me to come out on loan again, then Huddersfield would be a great place to come back to because I've really enjoyed my football here this season.
"Championship football would be the next step for me though and obviously Huddersfield can't offer me that, so I'd have to reassess my options and most importantly see what Arsenal want me to do."
