Sanchez Watt has opted to return to Arsenal following the end of his month-long loan deal at Southend United.
The teenage winger started four games for the League One club, but suffered with ankle and head injuries during his time at Roots Hall.
Rather than seek to extend his spell with the Shrimpers, manager Steve Tilson has confirmed Watt wants to be part of an Arsenal squad chasing the Premier League title.
"Sanchez enjoyed his stay," Tilson told the club's official website.
"He feels, though, it's best for him to go back to Arsenal for the remainder of the season.
"The idea was to come here and play some games to get his sharpness back up.
"With Arsenal still in contention for the title going into the final few months of the season he wanted to be around their first team in the hope he will be involved at some stage."
