Derby County are believed to be closing in on the loan signing of Manchester City youngster Javan Vidal, while Arsenal teenager Gilles Sunu is also on their radar.
The Derby Telegraph have claimed the City starlet will move to Pride Park until the end of the season on Monday after the two clubs agreed a deal for the 20-year-old.
The versatile Vidal, who can operate on the right side of defence or midfield, has made the bench for the Premier League big-spenders this season against Wolves and Stoke.
But the England youth international has been left out of Roberto Mancini's plans of late - including Sunday's clash against Portsmouth - adding fuel to speculation that the Manchester-born player will head to the East Midlands.
Vidal was farmed out to Grimsby Town in 2008, while the youngster has also played against the likes of Celtic and Rangers during a spell in the SPL at Aberdeen last year.
Meanwhile, Derby boss Nigel Clough has confirmed the Championship outfit are also interested in landing Arsenal's 18-year-old French forward Gilles Sunu on loan.
"We are trying, we are making calls about loans to bolster the squad," Clough told The Derby Telegraph.
"The loans are from Premier League clubs. One is a bit more experienced, a couple are young lads.
"Gilles Sunu, from Arsenal, has been mentioned. We are still talking about that and a couple of others as well."
