Skysports.com understands Colchester United have made an offer for Hamilton Academical forward Joel Thomas.
The Frenchman only joined the Accies 12 months ago and signed a new one-year contract at the end of last season.
He failed to score in 26 SPL appearances for Hamilton, but is now wanted in England after Colchester showed an interest.
Us boss Paul Lambert is in the market for more options up front and has identified Thomas as a possible signing.
The 22-year-old's Hamilton team-mate Richard Offiong has also been linked with a move to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
