Phil Parkinson has admitted he is unlikely to offer James Dunne a deal in the near future after inviting the Arsenal youngster for a trial at Charlton.
Dunne has been training with the Addicks and appeared in last week's reserve win over Brighton.
Parkinson brought in Dunne after monitoring his progress over a period of time but he has rejected speculation suggesting he could be about to earn a contract.
But Parkinson told the News Shopper: "No that won't happen, we are just going to have a look at him.
"James got recommended to us and we watched him playing for Arsenal over a period of time.
"When you get an opportunity to look at somebody, it is always good to get them in your training ground rather then watching them play for someone else."
