Phil Parkinson has confirmed that midfielder Zheng Zhi will return to action by the end of the month.

Addicks boss hoping Zheng can have a big impact when he returns

Charlton manager Phil Parkinson has confirmed that midfielder Zheng Zhi will return to action by the end of the month. Injury has restricted Zheng to just two appearances this season and the Chinese national team captain is currently out with a foot injury. The Addicks have struggled without the 28-year-old and are currently five points adrift of safety at the bottom of the Championship. Parkinson, who was appointed as Alan Pardew's successor in late December, has had to fend off rumours linking Zheng with a move away from the Valley. But the former Colchester United boss is just concentrating on the player's return to action. "When he comes back it will be like having a new player and he'll be back by the end of January."
