Stoke City defender Andy Wilkinson has accused Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger of 'sour grapes' following his recent verbal criticism of the newly-promoted side.
Wenger claimed that Ryan Shawcross and Rory Delap deliberately injured Theo Walcott and Emmanuel Adebayor in the 2-1 success over the Gunners last weekend.
Peter Coates has since rejected the Frenchman's suggestions, and Wilkinson - who was an unused substitute at the Britannia Stadium - has echoed the chairman's defence.
The 24-year-old said in The Sun: "It's probably sour grapes from Arsenal.
"No team fancies coming to the Britannia now. Arsenal looked like they didn't fancy it at all on Saturday.
"If they can't deal with the intimidating atmosphere and the way we play, that's their problem, not ours."
