Gunners striker to miss World Cup qualifier against Iceland

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has been ruled out of Holland's World Cup qualifier against Iceland. The 25-year-old forward is suffering from a hamstring injury and will therefore not be risked in the fixture in Rotterdam on Saturday. Van Persie, who has netted five goals for Arsenal this term, will, however, be reassessed ahead of next Wednesday's visit to Norway. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid defender Johnny Heitinga is struggling with a knee injury so PSV Eindhoven's Jan Kromkamp has been drafted in as cover. Bert van Marwij's Holland are seeking back-to-back wins in Group 9 after they opened their road to South Africa with a success over Macedonia last month.
