Carlos Vela is hoping compatriot Giovani Dos Santos enjoys his move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Dos Santos secured a switch to White Hart Lane last week after failing to establish himself in the Barcelona team.
In North London, he will be reunited with Vela after the pair played key roles in Mexico's Under 17 World Cup win in 2005.
Vela is on the books of Arsenal and is now free to make his debut for the club after securing a work permit following two seasons on loan in Spain.
Very good player
The Gunners attacker is looking forward to meeting up with Dos Santos and feels his international colleague can be a success at White Hart Lane.
"I am happy for him," said Vela.
"I hope things go well for him at Tottenham, that he gets the minutes he wasn't given at Barcelona and that he shows what he can do.
"He is a very good player and let's hope he can then move on to a better team."
