A France XI were held by Congo at the Municipal Stadium in a game of few chances that lacked genuine excitement.
France coach Raymond Domenech selected his side from a squad of 37 players called-up ahead of Wednesday's high-profile friendly against Spain.
Those on the periphery of Domenech's first XI largely failed to make favourable impressions against a stubborn and well organised Congo side.
Worryingly for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was the sight of Mathieu Flamini being replaced due to injury, while later in the game Samir Nasri also needed to be taken off.
Arsenal full-back Gael Clichy made his international bow, as did goalkeepers Steve Mandanda and Hugo Lloris - with both playing a half each.
