Defender Kerrea Gilbert has left Southend to rejoin parent club Arsenal. The 20-year-old joined the Shrimpers at the end of July and has spent the last five months on loan at Roots Hall. Despite featuring heavily in the first two months of the season, Gilbert fell out of favour with boss Steve Tilson and was restricted to just six appearances for the club.
