Philippe Senderos is determined to make the most of Kolo Toure's upcoming international absence.
The Ivory Coast defender will be off to the African Cup of Nations in the New Year, and Senderos is hopeful that he will be handed an opportunity to re-establish himself in the Arsenal first team.
The Swiss international has made only five Premier League appearances this season due to the impressive form of Toure and club captain William Gallas.
"It could be a big opportunity for me to go in there and show what I can do," Senderos said.
"I believe I've already shown what I'm capable of but this could be a big chance to come into the team for a while.
"It would be a good time to come in as well. We are playing great football, winning games, and I'm ready for the challenge."
