Middlesbrough have renewed their interest in Arsenal forward Jeremie Aliadiere.

Boro made a move for the former French Under 21 star back in December with a view to taking him this month, but their offer - believed to be an initial loan - was not what Arsenal were willing to accept.

Aliadiere is thought to be open to a move which would result in regular first team football in the Premiership. 

The youngster has been involved a lot in recent weeks for The Gunners and it is the form he has produced that has persuaded Boro to rekindle their interest.

The Teesside club are now coming back with an improved bid, but it remains to be seen whether they will meet the demands of Arsenal - who are more than happy to see Aliadiere remain.

Boro are looking at numerous deals during the window, and have held talks over prospective new midfielders Manuel Fernandes and Zoltan Gera.

The club, who are rumoured to be considering entering the bidding for Colchester's Greg Halford, are also continuing to track South Korean international Lee Dong-gook - who has impressed whilst on trial with the club in recent weeks.
