Julio Baptista has pleaded with Arsene Wenger to give him more opportunities in the starting XI.
The Real Madrid star moved to Arsenal on transfer deadline day in a loan exchange with Jose Antonio Reyes.
The Brazilian has struggled to establish himself in Wenger's first team plans and he has been limited to a role on the bench.
Baptista is unhappy at his current situation and claims he has not been given a proper chance to impress at Emirates Stadium.
"I'm fit, I want to play and I didn't sign for Arsenal to sit on the bench," Baptista told the News of the World.
"I know that I can play very well and help the team improve their results - but I haven't been given a chance."
Baptista, who scored his only goal for the club so far against Hamburg last month, is hoping to be given the chance to start against Porto next week with Thierry Henry missing through suspension.
"All I want to do is help my team and to do that I need to be a first-choice starter. Of course I want to play against Porto," added Baptista.
"It was great to score against Hamburg but that is only a taste. I want more of the action and then I can show what I can do.
"I was happy with my performances for Real Madrid and for Seville and I am confident that I can do the same for Arsenal."
