Nicklas Bendtner is looking forward to spending the rest of the season at Birmingham City.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given an extension to the deal the thumbs up, barring any unforeseen circumstances at Emirates Stadium.

Bendtner has impressed so far at St Andrews and has scored seven goals for Birmingham.

The teenage striker is happy with Wenger's decision as he admits he is not keen to return to Arsenal while he is playing regularly for Blues.

"I am really fine where I am now because I am certain to get playing time," Bendtner told Ritzau.

"Arsenal is, of course, tempting, but I don't want to return at any cost.

"Therefore, I look forward to playing out the season at Birmingham."

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce is delighted to be keeping Bendtner and feels the Denmark international, along with fellow loanees from Arsenal - Sebastian Larsson and Fabrice Muamba - can only benefit from their time in The Championship.

Bruce told Sky Sports News: "We've got Larsson and Muamba for the season and there is an agreement with Mr Wenger for Nicklas Bendtner.

"He was always going to come for the rest of the season and that is still in place unless something untoward happens.

"They have all done very, very well and Arsenal can look at it that they have gained huge experience playing every week in a competitive league doing particularly well.

"It will do them good in their education and will further their career."
