Real Madrid star Julio Baptista insists Arsenal are still interested in signing him.
The 24-year-old, known as The Beast, moved to The Santiago Bernabeu from Sevilla last summer, shunning a move to Highbury in the process.
He featured heavily during the season, but his future is in some doubt following Fabio Capello's appointment.
Baptista insists he wants to remain with the Spanish although he confirmed that Arsenal are still keen.
"It is certain that Arsenal want me," said the Brazilian.
"But I have a contract at Madrid and I want to fulfil it."
Baptista says he intends to work his way into Capello's first team plans.
"I am calm and safe, I am going to work to gain the confidence of Capello and be in the eleven," he told AS.
"I want to try to begin well and show the form I finished the last season with, I want to have a high level from the beginning."
