Jens Lehmann has urged Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to bring Germany team-mate Miroslav Klose to North London.
The Werder Bremen striker is cementing his reputation as a goalscorer of some repute at the World Cup, with his four goals thus far making him one of the favourites to win the Golden Boot.
Klose is under contract at his German paymasters until 2008 but talk has been that he could be on the move this summer, with a figure of £15 million mooted to be the fee required to secure his services.
Arsenal have been linked with an approach for the target man, Manchester United and Internazionale are also reportedly keeping an eye on the situation, with Lehmann of the opinion he would be an ideal signing.
''Of course Miroslav could play a fantastic role for Arsenal,'' said Lehmann.
''He is excellent in the air and a great finisher, as he has proved again at the World Cup.
''We use our wingers a lot more than other teams so it would be fantastic to have a classic goalscoring centre forward in the middle to get on the end of them, even though I am loath to comment on rumours.''
