Arsenal full back Gael Clichy has pulled out of France's under-21 squad because of injury.
The defender is struggling with the foot injury picked up in November and has been forced to withdraw from the Toulon tournament.
Monaco starlet Olivier Veigneau has been called up to replace the 20-year-old, who was an unused substitute in Arsenal's UEFA Champions League final defeat to Barcelona.
Veigneau had a steady season with the Principality, making 20 Ligue 1 appearances last term.
He will now be hoping to get his chance when the French youngsters play their Portuguese counterparts on Tuesday.
They will also play Germany and Serbia & Montenegro during a busy six days next week.
