Scottish Premier League side Falkirk have signed Arsenal keeper Mark Howard on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old is on the periphery at Highbury, as he has been restricted to a couple of reserve appearances with Mart Poom, Manuel Almunia and Jens Lehmann ahead of him in the pecking order.

Having secured the services of Poom for the remainder of the season, Gunners chief Arsene Wenger has opted to send Howard to Scotland in search of first team action.

Howard will spend the remainder of the season at Falkirk before returning to North London in the summer.

Howard takes the place of Matt Glennon (pictured) in Falkirk's squad, as the former Carlisle custodian has departed to join St Johnstone.
