Goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen admits he may be forced to leave Bolton Wanderers unless player and club can resolve a contract dispute.
The Finn's current deal does not expire for another 18 months, although discussions over a new deal were opened earlier this season.
Those talks have, so far, failed to bear fruit and it has left both Jaaskelainen and Sam Allardyce at an impasse.
Allardyce revealed last month that he faces something of a conundrum with the Trotters manager unsure whether to sell the consistent performer now or risk losing him for a reduced fee should the two parties fail to thrash out new terms.
Arsenal are thought to be monitoring the Finn's status and a Gunners move could be afoot with Arsene Wenger eyeing a long-term replacement for Jens Lehmann.
That possibility has moved a step closer with a frustrated Jaaskelainen claiming that he must now think of his future.
"It's out of my hands," said Jaaskelainen. "It would be great to sign a new deal but I have to look after my family."
