Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has expressed his disappointment at losing Mathieu Flamini to Arsenal.

The club recently saw their appeal against the controversial move dismissed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but were awarded compensation.

Diouf believes the outcome will allow the same situation to arise in future, with European giants swooping in to sign young players after being brought through the ranks by French clubs.

"That decision questions all the running of French football," blasted Diouf.

"The system that exists today can't go on. Clubs will not continue to devote huge money to training if any foreign club can come and pick up our players.

"The French football charter has to be readjusted, we are entering a new period," he warned.

"That is why we would have appreciated a little more support from the French institutions we didn't hear a lot from on that case."
