With this in mind Sevilla have handed him a five-year deal which includes a huge buy-out clause set at ‚é¼60 million (£40 million).
Navas is know as the 'diamond' of Spain and already had a deal until 2008 - but Sevilla have now made sure his immediate future will be with them.
Arsenal had been tipped off about Navas by Jose Antonio Reyes, who had already hailed the youngster as a potentially great player.
