Arsenal have lodged their appeal against the dismissal of Dennis Bergkamp for violent conduct in the FA Cup tie against Sheffield United.
Bergkamp was dismissed for an angry clash with Danny Cullip in the 1-1 draw, although it was team-mate Jose Antonio Reyes who appeared to be the major transgressor.
Manager Arsene Wenger had immediately indicated his desire to appeal, and the club have indeed lodge their resistance to the ban.
Bergkamp will face a three-match ban if his appeal failed - and it is yet to be announced if the FA will charge Reyes after studying television footage of the incident.
Cullip was confronted by Bergkamp and Reyes after colliding with Cesc Fabregas - with the Dutchman thrusting a finger into the Blades man's face.
