Thierry Henry has backed Jose Antonio Reyes to put rumours of a move to Real Madrd behind him and win back the fans adoration at Arsenal.

The France international is sympathetic after Reyes was lured into stating his Real desire to a radio station during a hoax phone call.

Henry thinks that life is tough enough when attempting to adjust to a different culture - and was delighted that Reyes responded to a bad week with a scintillating display in the 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

"Ryeyes was tremendous and the fans were tremendous with him as well," said Henry.

"We all know what happened last week, but it was just amazing.

"He hadn't scored for a long time in the league so it was important for him and us but the reaction of the fans goes without saying.

"The guy is young and stuff happens. That is when you have to show you are a team.

"It is difficult to settle into a new country. I've had it twice - in Italy and in England.

"First of all it's not easy anyway; then when you have people trying to play tricks on you it becomes even more difficult.

"But the guy has shown he has quality."
