Jose Antonio Reyes put his recent off field trouble behind him with an impressive display in Arsenal's 5-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace at Highbury.
Reyes had fallen victim to a radio hoaxer impersonating Real Madrid's sporting director Emilio Butragueno amid reports that he was keen for a transfer away from Highbury, but the Spaniard responded by scoring his first Premiership goal since October 2 against Palace.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted to being impressed by Reyes' performance and believes the young Spaniard will continue to answer his critics with his on field displays.
"It was his best game for a while." observed Wenger.
"For an hour he was outstanding, he was very positive and he was always dangerous.
"It was not down to what happened to the radio - that gives too much credit to the radio.
"The best answer in football is to do well on the pitch and the whole team did that."
Meanwhile, Wenger has ruled out Dennis Bergkamp from the trip to Bayern Munich next week in the UEFA Champions League.
The Dutchman, who has a fear of flying, will not be forced to make the arduous trip to Germany by car as Wenger wants to keep him fresh for the rest of The Premiership campaign.
When asked if Bergkamp would be making the trip Wenger said: "No."
