Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has conceded that he is looking to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window.

The studious Frenchman believes his team is equipped for success this term but admits he is keen to add a fresh face in the new year.

Wenger refused to reveal his target but did state that he is constantly looking for reinforcements.

''We'll be looking for one player, not more,'' admitted Wenger.

''You will see. We look every week, everywhere. We might bring in two players maximum.

''We need to keep stability in our squad and I am a strong believer in the quality of our team.

''Even if at this moment it's not fashionable, I have a great belief in this team.

''We have the right number of quality players and the strength of character to be successful this season.''

Speculation has suggested Wenger is ready to offer a career lifeline to sacked Chelsea star Adrian Mutu but this is something the Arsenal chief was quick to clarify as not being the case.

Wenger believes he is well equipped in his striking department and is not looking for added cover in that position.

''I must tell you something, I have never said that,'' revealed Wenger.

''We have a big enough squad and good enough players at the moment not to be interested.

''We are not looking for anyone upfront at the moment. We have the number at the moment to be successful.''
