Charlton boss Alan Curbishley says that he is to add to his squad before the transfer deadline by signing Arsenal youngster Jerome Thomas.

After losing Scott Parker to Chelsea, Curbishley is determined to keep his side's momentum going despite losing at home to Bolton on Saturday.

Curbishley says that he has been chasing Arsenal's 20-year-old for some time, and hopes to seal the deal for the forward for £100,000 before the transfer deadline on Monday.

"I'm going to sign him from Arsenal for £100,000," confirmed Curbishley.

"I was going to sign him anyway before Scott left and it'll probably go through tomorrow.

"He can play wide left or wide right and also down the middle."

Thomas has not been able to break into Arsene Wenger's first team and the arrival of Spaniard Jose Reyes seems to have signalled his exit from Highbury.
