ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger is hoping that England goalkeeper David Seaman will be fit for next week's Champions League clash with Ajax.

The French chief saw Seaman limp out of Tuesday's 1-1 draw with the Dutch champions, with Stuart Taylor replacing him at half time.

Seaman suffered a hip problem, but Wenger is confident that his number one will be fit for the trip to Amsterdam.

Wenger confirmed that Taylor is likely to play in this weekend's Premiership clash with Manchester City, with Frenchman Guillaume Warmuz also standing by.

"It is not a bad injury and Seaman should be okay for Wednesday" Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

"He is short for the Manchester City game, and Stuart Taylor will deputise. He did well when he came on against Ajax.

"Guillaume Warmuz is also available."
