ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has once again turned to Switzerland for his latest signing.

The shrewd Frenchman snapped up highly-rated Philippe Senderos from Servette recently, with the centre back arriving at Highbury in the summer, and planetfootball can reveal a similar deal has been struck to bring his compatriot Johan Djourou to North London.

Although his family hail from Africa's Ivory Coast, he is a Swiss national and has impressed Wenger and his scouts with his performances for the Geneva-based club and the Swiss Under-17 side.

Djourou is not 16 until January 18, but has already featured in a trial spell with The Gunners back in October, playing in a friendly alongside crowd favourite Robert Pires.

An agreement is believed to have been reached over the weekend.

The youthful attacker, who played junior football for Etoile Carouge, could be a name to watch out for in the future.
