BEN CHORLEY has cut short his loan spell with Division Two side Brentford and has returned to Premiership champions Arsenal.

The 20-year-old has struggled to make an impact in manager Wally Downes' squad, with the back-line partnership of Leo Roget and Ibrahima Sonko leading the starting order at Griffin Park.

Chorley only made three first team appearances in his six weeks with the West London club after joining them in August.

The youngster had initially agreed a one-month loan deal with The Bees before having it extended to three months in September.

However, with Chorley down the defensive pecking order with Brentford, the defender has decided to return to Highbury and continue his career with The Gunners.
