CORINTHIANS are preparing themselves for the sale of Ricardinho, probably to England, with Arsenal rumoured to be the most likely destination.
The former Paris Saint Germain man will not face work permit complications as he holds an Italian passport, and the signs are that he is on the brink of returning to Europe.
"He is at Corinthians in Brazil but has Italian citizenship, so there wouldn't be any problems with him," said the uncle and agent of the player, Rubens Pozzi.
"I suppose that by the end of this week we will have some news about what will happen with Ricardinho. We want to reach an agreement that could be good for Ricardinho and Corinthians.
"He is a great player and because he has the EU passport that makes everything easier for him to be transferred to Europe. Ricardinho wishes to play at once so I hope that this week all the negotiations can reach a happy ending."
Corinthians president Rowue Citadini revealed that there had been a lot of interest shown in the Samba ace, declaring: "We have received many offers for Ricardinho since the beginning of the year but at the moment he is still a Corinthians players."
Arsenal already have a number of Brazilians on their books, with Gilberto Silva their latest Samba arrival, and the deal was believed to have been the final close season capture for Arsene Wenger.
