MALAGA have been credited with an interest in Arsenal striker Kanu, after president Fernando Puche declared the club are in talks with a number of targets.
The Nigerian international could be an alternative to Manchester City's Paulo Wanchope, who was believed to be on Puche's wanted list after starring in Copa America for Costa Rica, only for the Spanish club's supremo to admit his interest had waned.
The Gunners may be looking to recoup some of their substantial transfer outlay by off-loading some squad players, but 24-year-old Kanu, despite an unsettled season, would appear to still feature in Arsene Wenger's plans.
If an offer in the region of £8 million, which is being touted, is slapped on the Frenchman's desk, things may change but Malaga have a number of irons in the fire and perhaps would not fork out such a large sum on any one target.
Silvinho and Igor Stepanovs, a possible target for Beveren, have been deemed as those most available for transfer by Wenger with the Brazilian's squad number being handed to new boy Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Guy Demel, meanwhile, has finalised his move to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, after impressing during a trial spell.
