STEPHEN CARR will be back in contention for a starting place in Tottenham Hotspur's side for the forthcoming FA Cup semi-final against arch-rivals Arsenal.
The Republic of Ireland full back has handed a major boost to new manager Glenn Hoddle by declaring that he is raring to go for the clash - and that the rest of the squad have put the recent 2-0 loss in the league out of their minds.
"I'm back in contention for the squad and I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to it," said Carr.
"I've been training with the boys for about a week now and I'm slowly getting my touch back. I still need to build up my fitness but there are several days of training to go before the game.
"What a game to return for though! If I'm picked I imagine I'll be playing on adrenaline alone. The bottom line is that Glenn Hoddle will pick his best team, but he knows I'm feeling fit and well.
"Naturally we were disappointed to lose against Arsenal on Saturday but the result won't have any bearing on the semi-final against them on Sunday. We badly want to win and fight to get that victory."
