Jamie Redknapp and Helen Chamberlain tell us about their #MyFirstGame as part of a new Sky Sports campaign to help fans win tickets to see their Barclays Premier League team.

Sky Sports pundits and presenters have been taking a trip down memory lane this week and with Jamie Redknapp being born into a footballing family it's no surprise his first game featured a relative on the pitch.

The former professionals talk about where their love for football all started as part of a new fan campaign - #MyFirstGame - launched in conjunction with league title sponsor Barclays.

Jamie Redknapp tells us about his first game, which was a famous cup match.

Redknapp said: “The first game I remember going to was the 1980 FA Cup final. I was watching my uncle Frank Lampard Snr play for West Ham against Arsenal. I was six years of age and it was obviously a great occasion for the whole family when West Ham won 1-0 with that famous Trevor Brooking diving header.

“I’ll never forget the occasion, the atmosphere was something to saviour and it was one of those moments where I fell in love with football. It was many years ago now but I’m still enjoying it as much as ever. It was a great day.”

Soccer AM presenter and Torquay United season ticket holder Helen Chamberlain has revealed that her first game was not at Plainmoor – but at Anfield.

She said: “I was 12 and my mum managed to get tickets to watch Liverpool at Anfield. We were up at the crack of dawn, drove to Bristol Temple Meads, changed at Birmingham New Street, and got off at Liverpool Lime Street, walked to the ground. I remember my mother would not let me buy a bog roll from the corner shop that we passed – to throw on the pitch. I remember thinking that was really mean.

Helen Chamberlain tells us about her first game at Anfield for #MyFirstGame

“I remember going into the club shop and getting a massive Kenny Dalglish badge and a silk scarf to tie around my wrist. We got into the ground and Mum told me to stay right there while she went and got a coffee. Of course I didn’t stay there because I was 12.

"I ran to the top of the steps and saw Anfield all lit up and I went: 'Mum!' and she thought something horrific had happened so she left her queue even though she was almost at the front as well. She ran up to me and went: 'What?' And I went: 'Look'.

“I thought it was the eighth wonder of the world. Can’t remember who they played, can’t remember the score but I will never forget that day.”
