Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed winger Jordon Ibe will be out "for a few weeks" with a knee problem.

Ibe suffered the injury during the 1-0 last-32, second-leg defeat to Besiktas in Turkey on Thursday which saw Liverpool go out of the Europa League.

The 19-year-old was consequently missing from Rodgers' squad for the 2-1 Premier League win over Manchester City on Sunday.

Rodgers said: "Jordon twisted his knee in Turkey, and had to come off towards the end. He has had a scan on that.

"It is not too serious but it's probably just going to mean him out for a few weeks.

"We'll probably have him back towards the end of March."

Meanwhile, Rodgers says that captain Steven Gerrard could return soon from a hamstring injury.

Gerrard sustained the injury in the 3-2 home Premier League win over Tottenham on February 10.

"Steven is building up strength in his hamstring. He is working very hard," said Rodgers.

"Hopefully in the very near future, he'll be back and available."
