Sky sources: Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli accepts FA misconduct charge

Sky sources understand Mario Balotelli has accepted a Football Association misconduct charge relating to a social media post this month.

The Liverpool striker was accused of an aggravated rule breach after posting a cartoon message which made reference to racial stereotypes.

Balotelli later apologised and argued the post was meant as a humorous anti-racist message, and it is understood he has submitted written mitigation to that effect. He has not requested a personal hearing.

Balotelli has missed Liverpool's last six matches through injury but is in contention to return at Manchester United on Super Sunday.
