FC Basel have removed the controversial picture that mocked the Liverpool team they knocked out of the Champions League.
The Swiss decided to rub some salt in our wounds.
The drawing, posted on the Swiss club’s official Instagram site, was a swipe at all the English clubs Basel have managed to beat over the last few seasons.
It depicted a Liverpool player being helped by a Chelsea and Tottenham counterpart under the caption “You’ll never walk alone”.
Before last night’s 1-1 draw at Anfield, they beat Chelsea twice in last season's Champions League and dumped Tottenham out of the 2012-13 Europa League.
Basel also posted pictures of former Liverpool man Philipp Degen celebrating in the visitors' dressing room.
The Liverpool website described the pictures as rubbing “salt in our wounds”.
