Liverpool and England striker Daniel Sturridge has thanked fans for their support and says he is determined to bounce back from his injury problems.

The 25-year-old has been unavailable since September and looks set to remain sidelined until January after suffering another thigh injury in training.

Sturridge tweeted: "Through all this I'm growing as a man and an athlete.

"Everybody goes through things in their life that can make or break them. This for me is just another hurdle to jump over. Another door to break down.

"I'll be back soon enough strong and ready to play. Thanks to everyone for your support."

Sturridge has scored 31 goals in 43 Premier League appearances since moving to Anfield in the January transfer window in 2013 but has not featured since the 3-0 win over Tottenham at the end of August.

The Birmingham-born striker has scored once this term and made just three appearances since the start of his injury problems which flared up on international duty with England in September and has since been hampered by two training ground setbacks.

Liverpool have taken just eight points from their last nine games, including three successive defeats and currently sit 12th in the Premier League following Sunday's reverse at Crystal Palace.
