The Reds can move to within a point of league-leaders Chelsea if they win their game in hand against Sunderland on Wednesday, which is live on Sky Sports 1HD.
Rodgers watched his side break their goalscoring record for a single season with a 6-3 thrashing of Cardiff City at the weekend, taking their tally to 82 for the campaign.
Liverpool are close to winning their first ever Premier League title and a first top-flight championship since 1990, but Rodgers has once again played down their chances.
"We haven't won it for a long time and it may or may not be this year but there is no doubt we are on the right road to winning a title here," he said.
"We are nowhere near the finished article but we are evolving and I take great pride in that. While we are learning and improving we will hopefully continue to pick up points.
"We are enjoying the moment and we are on the right path. The 82 goals shows the confidence we haven and if we maintain that, we will win many more games."
Striker Daniel Sturridge has been central to Liverpool's recent success and there had been speculation as to whether the England international would be rewarded for his exploits with a new deal before the end of the season.
But Rodgers said: "There will be no contracts talked about until the summer. Our focus is the club and not any individual whether it is the player or the manager.
"Daniel has been outstanding since he came here and I am sure the owners may well look at that come the summer but he has shown the consistency for over a year to be a world-class striker."
