Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has outlined his intention to work hard in order to ensure he remains at the heart of the Reds' campaign.
The 23-year-old has played in every minute of Liverpool's Premier League season to date and is just three short of a century of appearances for the club.
Since his arrival from Sunderland in 2011, Henderson has gradually become a fond favourite on Merseyside with an influential presence at the heart of the midfield alongside Steven Gerrard.
However, despite his prolific rise at Anfield, the England international refuses to take his place in Brendan Rodgers' side for granted.
"It is obviously nice but I need to make sure that I'm working hard and make it hard for the manager to leave me out," he told the club's official site.
"There are a lot of quality players here working hard every day in training to get a starting position. Hopefully I can keep working hard and playing football."
Henderson featured on Monday evening as Liverpool secured top spot in the Premier League with a 2-2 draw against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
"At times we controlled the game quite well and at other times they kept the ball well, so probably for the public watching it was a good game, with some good goals," he added.
"We showed our mentality not to be beaten and could have won. We both, at times, dominated the ball and possession. At the start of the first half we moved it quite well then they came back into it towards the end.
"In the second half they came on a little bit more but we still had a couple of chances to get the winner. It wasn't to be but we're still undefeated so hopefully we can keep that going.
"Hopefully we can keep working hard in training and doing what we have been doing. Hopefully we can get a good result on Saturday."
New signing Victor Moses made a goal-scoring debut on Monday as he raced through the Swans defence and finished with composure and Henderson hailed the performance of the striker.
"I thought Victor was brilliant," said Henderson on reflection.
"It was his debut and he did really well; he had the beating of the full-back and obviously scored a brilliant goal as well. He has had a great start and hopefully he can keep doing that."
