No reason why we can't beat Liverpool, says Blackburn boss

Blackburn manager Steve Kean believes his side need to start games quicker if they are to avoid relegation this season. Rovers suffered a 3-0 reverse at West Brom on Saturday and were behind inside the first 10 minutes. And the Blackburn boss is looking to address a slump that has seen his team lose their last three matches and dragged back into the Premier League drop zone.

Kean told reporters: "We must address the way we are starting games. The mindset isn't to start slow. "We have to spark into life a bit quicker. We can certainly start quick in the second half so why not in the first half?" One of Kean's finest results as Blackburn boss came in a 3-1 win over Liverpool in the corresponding fixture between the two sides last season in January 2011. And Kean added: "There's no reason why we can't beat Liverpool again. It is not going to be easy to stay up but there are plenty of points to play for."
