Carra eyeing Wembley return

Jamie Carragher wants Liverpool to follow up their Carling Cup win by reaching the FA Cup final and finishing in the top four.

UEFA Champions League also on defender's radar

Jamie Carragher wants Liverpool to follow up their Carling Cup success by reaching the FA Cup final and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Kenny Dalglish's men won their first trophy in six years on Sunday with a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Championship side Cardiff at Wembley. The Merseysiders are also still in the FA Cup and can make a quick return to the national stadium by beating Stoke in the quarter-finals in a fortnight's time. In the Premier League, Liverpool are currently in seventh, seven points off fourth placed Arsenal, who they face on Saturday, but have a game in hand on all the sides immediately above them. Carragher has urged his team-mates to quickly move on from last weekend's Wembley joy as he feels the side is well capable of adding to their trophy haul and returning to the Champions League after a two-year absence.

Targets

"We have achieved something but there are still two targets to go for, top four and FA Cup," he told the club's official website. "The top four has been made more difficult by other results this weekend. But we want to come back here again. We want to play in the semi-final and the final. "We should be looking to get into Europe every year through our league position rather than through winning the Carling Cup. "It's great that we have qualified for the Europa League, of course it is, but we want to do that through our league position. "The next step is trying to get back into the Champions League."
