Glen Johnson has set his sights on returning to Wembley and winning more medals with Liverpool.

Full-back revelling in 'fantastic' win in Carling Cup final

Glen Johnson has set his sights on returning to Wembley and winning more medals with Liverpool after lifting the Carling Cup. Kenny Dalglish's squad on Sunday ended the club's six-year wait for a trophy after defeating Cardiff in a nervy penalty shoot-out. For Johnson, who converted his spot-kick, it was his first piece of silverware since joining Liverpool in an £18million move from Portsmouth in 2009. And with an FA Cup quarter-final against Stoke at Anfield set for 18th March, the full-back is hoping to go all the way to another final.

More the merrier

"It would mean the world," Johnson told Liverpool's official website. "That's what football is about - getting to finals and winning these trophies. "That's what it's all about, that's what we work hard for day in, day out." And Johnson not only wants to return to Wembley at club level, he is also determined to win more trophies. "It's what you join Liverpool football club for," he said. "It's a fantastic club, we've got some great stars and players and obviously with medals - the more the merrier. "Words can't describe it. It's fantastic - it's what the lads have worked so hard for and I think we deserved it."
